Prop Firm Crypto Payouts: USDT, USDC and Rise, Step by Step

How prop firm crypto payouts work from request to wallet: USDT and USDC, Rise, network fees, KYC, payout caps and timing, worked on a $50K Bold Funded account.

Most prop firm payout pages stop at the headline: "paid in crypto, within 24 hours". That is the sentence traders remember and the one that causes the most support tickets, because it skips everything between clicking Request and seeing the balance in a wallet. Which coin, which network, who pays the fee, why the amount is lower than the profit on the dashboard, and what happens when the firm says "approved" but the wallet still shows nothing.

This post walks through the whole route, step by step, using the Bold Funded rules as printed on the plan cards, in our Terms and in our AML/KYC Policy as checked on 5 November 2026, worked on a $50K account. Where our process differs from the industry habit we say so. Every Bold Funded account is a simulated account on real market data; the payout is real money paid for simulated performance, and the rules below decide when it is released.

The two payout rails: stablecoin and Rise

Bold Funded pays approved payouts in one of two ways, your choice at the time of request.

The first is a USD-denominated stablecoin, USDT or USDC, sent to a wallet you control. Stablecoins are the default rail in prop trading for a simple reason: they settle in minutes, they are not tied to a card scheme, and they work in most of the countries where evaluation-based firms have traders. The amount is the USD figure on your payout statement; the price of the coin is pegged to the dollar, so there is no exchange-rate surprise between approval and arrival.

The second is Rise, a payout platform that lets the firm pay you through an account in your own name and, depending on your country, settle in local currency to a bank or in crypto. Rise suits traders who do not want to hold stablecoins or who need a payout that lands as ordinary money in a bank account. Availability of either method in a given country is at our discretion, as the Terms say, because sanctions, local rules and the payout provider's own coverage change.

What we do not offer is a third rail that a few firms still use: bank wire from the firm's own account. It is slow, it is expensive on small amounts, and it is the first thing to break when a firm's banking relationship changes. Our payouts are run by our own in-house system to the two rails above, so there is no third-party prop-tech vendor between approval and the send.

Step by step: from Request to wallet

Here is the full sequence on a Bold Funded account. It is the same on forex and futures; only the eligibility rules differ.

  1. 1Meet the plan's payout conditions. Each plan card prints them: the payout cycle, the number of qualifying trading days, any payout buffer and any consistency rule. Check them before you request, not after.
  2. 2Verify your identity, once. Before your first payout you complete KYC with our partner: a government ID and a selfie, about two minutes. It is not repeated for later payouts unless something on the account changes. If you pay by card you will already have done it at checkout.
  3. 3Save a payout destination. A stablecoin wallet address, or a Rise account, in the same name as the verified account. We do not pay third parties and we do not pay to a different name; that line is in the AML policy and it is not negotiable, because it is the control that stops stolen cards being laundered through evaluation fees.
  4. 4Request the payout from the dashboard. You choose the amount, up to the cap for your plan, and the rail. The request is reviewed before anything is sent.
  5. 5Review. We check the trades on the account against the plan's rules and the prohibited-conduct list. On a clean account this is quick; on an account with a flagged pattern it can take longer and we tell you why.
  6. 6Approval and send. From the moment of approval we target a four-hour average and commit to 24 hours. If an approved payout takes longer than 24 hours, we add $250 to it. That is a commitment written into the Terms, not a guarantee of any particular time, and it exists because we think a firm should pay for its own delays.
  7. 7Arrival. A stablecoin send is visible on the blockchain within minutes of leaving us; the wallet or exchange on your side then credits it after its own confirmation count. A Rise payout follows Rise's settlement time for your country.

The step most traders skip is number three. Set the destination before you are eligible, not on the day you want the money, because an address change can trigger a security hold on some accounts.

Fees: who pays what

The amount that lands is the approved amount after two deductions, and only two.

The first is your profit split. If your plan is on 90%, a $2,000 payout sends $1,800. The split ladder rises with consecutive payouts on every plan except Perps One-Step, which starts and stays at a flat 90%.

The second is the blockchain network fee on a stablecoin send, plus any third-party charge, which the Terms say are deducted from the payout. Network fees vary by chain and by the hour; they are typically a few dollars at most on the networks commonly used for stablecoin payouts, and the fee is deducted from the send rather than charged separately. Your own exchange may charge a deposit or conversion fee on top, which is outside our control and worth checking before you choose the coin.

There is no payout processing fee, no minimum payout fee and no charge for choosing Rise over stablecoin at our end. Rise's own terms may apply on the receiving side depending on your country.

Worked example: a $3,000 month on a $50K account

Suppose you close $3,000 of simulated profit in a calendar month on three different Bold Funded $50K plans, all of them on their starting split. The table shows what reaches your wallet and when, before network fees. Figures are from the plan cards on 5 November 2026.

Also paid with the first payout100% refund of the $299 evaluation fee——
Second payout (net), if no further profit—$900 after 5 more daysDepends on buffer and days

Three things stand out. On the Two-Step, the whole $3,000 goes in one request and the evaluation fee comes back with it, so the first payout is $2,699 before network fees. On Bold, the 4% cap splits the same profit over two cycles five days apart, which is still faster to the full amount than a 14-day plan, and the $1,000 above the cap is not lost; it is paid next cycle. On Instant futures, the $2,100 buffer means you must keep that much simulated profit on the account above the drawdown floor before the first payout is released, so the second payout waits until the account has rebuilt the buffer.

If you want the ladder effect, the profit-split post works four consecutive payouts on every $50K plan and shows the effective split over the run.

Why the dashboard profit and the payout differ

New traders often open a ticket that reads "I made $3,000, why is my payout $1,800". Every reason is on the plan card, but the four usual ones are worth listing.

The split: 70% to 95% depending on the plan and how many consecutive payouts you have completed. The cap: on futures plans a single payout takes at most 4% of the account on Bold and Bolt or 3% on Instant; on Perps 5% on One-Step and Two-Step and 3% on Instant; forex standard plans carry no cap. The buffer: Instant plans require a profit cushion above the floor, 2% of the size on forex Instant and the drawdown plus $100 on futures Instant. The qualifying days: Bold counts only days with at least $250 of closed profit, so a month of small green days may not yet qualify even when the total is large.

None of these reduce what you earn over time. They change when it is paid. A trader who reads the card before buying has no surprise; a trader who reads the headline has a ticket.

Timing: what "within 24 hours" actually measures

The industry phrase "paid within 24 hours" is measured from different points at different firms, and the point matters more than the number. Some count from approval, some from the request, and a few count from the end of a review window that is itself undefined.

Bold Funded measures from approval. The target is a four-hour average, the commitment is 24 hours, and the $250 addition kicks in after that. The review before approval is where a payout can legitimately take longer, and that is where we think a firm owes you a reason rather than silence. If a review takes longer than usual, we tell you why rather than leaving the request pending in silence.

Speed also depends on the rail. A stablecoin send is the fastest route we have because the blockchain does the settlement; a Rise payout that settles to a bank in local currency inherits the local banking timetable, including weekends. If you need the money on a Saturday, choose the stablecoin.

Choosing between USDT and USDC

Both are USD-pegged, both are supported, and the payout figure is identical. The choice comes down to where you will hold or convert the coin.

Check which coin and which network your exchange or wallet accepts for deposits, and what it charges to convert to your local currency. Pick the combination with the lowest total cost on your side. A payout sent on a network your exchange does not support is not lost, but recovering it is slow and sometimes carries a fee from the exchange, so the address and network you save on the dashboard must match what the receiving side expects. Save the destination carefully and check the network before the first request.

If you do not want to hold either coin at all, Rise is the answer, with the trade-off in timing above.

A note on tax, records and where you live

Payouts are income to you in most places, and the Terms are explicit that any tax due on a payout is yours. Your payout history stays on the Bold Funded dashboard, with the gross, split and net figures for each payout, which is what an accountant will ask for.

Eligibility by country matters too. Our forex and CFD plans are not available to residents of the United States or Canada; futures plans are open to US residents; the Perps division is not available to US, Canadian or Saint Lucian residents. A payout rail being available in your country does not change which plans you may trade, so check the rules guide before buying rather than at payout time.

The honest summary

A prop firm crypto payout is a short chain: conditions met, identity verified once, destination saved, request, review, approval, send. The chain is fast when the firm's own system runs it and slow when a third party sits in the middle. The number that matters on the card is not "24 hours" but the point it is measured from and what the firm owes you if it misses.

At Bold Funded the point is approval, the commitment is 24 hours, the penalty we pay is $250, and every deduction between your dashboard profit and your wallet is printed on the plan card before you pay a fee. That is the standard we would ask any firm to meet, including the one we trade with ourselves. The plan pages list every payout rule by size, and the cost post shows what you pay to get there.

Payout cycle, split ladder, cap and buffer are printed on each plan card before you pay anything.

Frequently asked questions

How do prop firm crypto payouts work?

You request a payout from your dashboard once your plan's conditions are met, the firm reviews it, and the approved amount is sent as USDT or USDC to a wallet you control. At Bold Funded we target a four-hour average from approval, commit to 24 hours, and add $250 to any approved payout that takes longer. Network fees are deducted from the amount sent.

Do I need KYC to receive a prop firm payout?

At Bold Funded, yes, once, before your first payout. Verification takes about two minutes with a government ID and a selfie through our KYC partner, and the payout must go to a wallet or Rise account in the same name as the verified account.

Is USDT or USDC better for prop firm payouts?

Both are USD-pegged stablecoins and both are supported at Bold Funded. The practical difference is the network you receive on and what your exchange or wallet accepts; pick the one you can convert or spend with the lowest fee where you live. The payout amount is the same either way.

What is a payout cap at a prop firm?

The most profit one payout can take before your split is applied. On Bold Funded futures plans it is 4% of the account size on Bold and Bolt and 3% on Instant; profit above the cap stays on the account and is paid in your next cycle, so nothing is lost.
