Bold Funded Rules: Drawdown, Daily Loss & Payouts by Plan (2027)

Bold Funded rules for every plan on one page: drawdown type, daily loss limit, profit target, no minimum days, consistency, payout cycle, split and scaling.

Bold Funded TeamUpdated 12 min read

This is the reference page for every rule on every Bold Funded plan, written by the team that builds the risk engine that enforces them. Nothing here is a summary of a PDF you have to go and find; the numbers below are the same numbers the plan cards show and the same numbers the software checks on every tick.

Two things before the tables. First, every Bold Funded account is a simulated account running on real market data. You never trade our capital or yours; you trade a simulation and are paid a share of the simulated profit you generate. Second, the rules for a specific account size are always shown on its plan card, so if a table here disagrees with the card, the card wins and you should tell us.

Forex plans trade on MetaTrader 5 under our own direct MetaQuotes licence, plus TradingView. Futures plans trade CME products on Volt Futures, our own futures platform.

Our Perps plans (perpetual futures on Volt Perps, our own perps platform) have their own rules, listed plan by plan on the Perps page. Perps are not available to residents of the United States, Canada or Saint Lucia.

How drawdown works here

There are only two drawdown mechanisms at Bold Funded, and neither of them is intraday trailing.

Static drawdown is a fixed floor below your starting balance. On a $50K Two-Step account the floor is $45,000 (10%) and it never moves, so profit gives you more room. The forex Instant Funded account works the same way with a 6% limit ($3,000 on $50K). Since 4 November 2026 no futures plan uses a static floor; Build Your Own can add one as a paid upgrade.

End-of-day trailing drawdown moves the floor up once per day, based on your closed end-of-day balance, never on open equity. Every EOD trailing limit at Bold Funded eventually locks: on forex, the floor freezes once your balance is a full limit above the starting balance; on futures, it freezes at the starting balance plus $100 once your end-of-day balance reaches the lock level shown on the card. For the full mechanics with a worked week of trades, read static vs trailing drawdown explained.

The daily loss limit, where one applies, is measured from your balance at 00:00 server time and includes floating P&L. If equity falls by the daily limit at any point, all positions are closed and the account is failed, so leave room for spread, swap and slippage.

Forex rules

All three forex plans run on MetaTrader 5. The daily loss limit is measured on equity from your balance at 00:00 server time; see the daily loss limit explained for a worked $50K morning. If you are choosing between the two evaluation plans, one-step vs two-step compares cost, drawdown and time to funded; instant funding vs evaluation covers when paying more up front makes sense.

Two-Step Classic

The traditional path: two evaluation phases, static drawdown, and your fee refunded with your first funded payout.

On a $50K Bold account: target $3,000, trailing limit $2,000, floor locks at $50,100 once your end-of-day balance reaches $52,100.

There is no minimum number of trading days: the evaluation passes on equity the moment the target is reached, open positions are closed at market and the funded account is issued. One practical note: because of the 40% consistency rule, your best day can be at most 40% of the profit at the moment you pass, so two days can cover at most 80% of the target and a Bold pass is in practice spread over at least three profitable days. Why we removed the day count, and where it still applies to payouts, is in minimum trading days at a prop firm.

Bolt

End-of-day trailing drawdown that locks at the starting balance plus $100 (changed from static on 4 November 2026), no minimum trading days and no evaluation consistency rule. Pass in a session if you can, then weekly payouts with a 40% consistency rule.

On all futures plans you must be flat by 3:59 PM CT, one minute before the daily session close, and may not hold through the maintenance break; positions still open at 3:59 PM CT are closed automatically. Commissions are $1.50 per contract per side on minis and $0.35 on micros ($3.00 and $0.70 round trip), charged on each fill and shown in the order ticket before you place it. News trading is allowed (why most firms restrict it and we do not). Automated strategies are allowed on your own account.

Consistency rule, in plain English

Where a 40% consistency rule applies, no single trading day may account for more than 40% of your total profit at the moment you pass (Bold evaluation) or request a payout (funded Bolt, Forex Instant, Futures Instant). It stops one outsized day from carrying the account. If your best day is $2,000, you need at least $5,000 of total profit before that day is within the limit. Two-Step, One-Step and funded Bold accounts have no consistency rule at all. The consistency rule post has a calculator table for working out the profit you need before a big day is inside the limit.

Payouts, split and scaling

  • Rails: crypto (USDT or USDC) or Rise, your choice. Payouts are processed within 24 hours of approval, on average within 4 hours; if an approved payout takes longer than 24 hours, we add $250 to it.
  • Split: forex Two-Step and One-Step start at 80% and rise to 90% after two payouts and 95% after four; forex Instant starts at 70% and rises to 80%, 90% and 95% after two, four and six payouts; futures plans start at 90% and rise to 95%. What those percentages leave in your hands after buffers and activation is worked on a $3,000 month in prop firm profit split explained.
  • Payout caps (futures and perps, since 4 November 2026): one payout may take at most 4% of the account size on Bold and Bolt ($2,000 on $50K), 3% on futures Instant ($1,500 on $50K), 5% on Perps One-Step and Two-Step and 3% on Perps Instant. Profit above the cap stays on the account and is paid in the next cycle. Forex standard plans have no cap. The full request-to-wallet route is in prop firm crypto payouts.
  • Scaling: every second payout your balance increases by 25%, automatically, up to $1M on forex and futures accounts and $500k on Perps accounts. The scaling table shows the path for a $100K account.
  • Fees: Two-Step fees are refunded in full with your first payout. Other plans are non-refundable once the account is issued, except within 14 days if you have not placed a trade. Bold and Bolt carry a one-time $99 activation when you pass.

What happens if you breach

The risk engine closes all positions and marks the account failed the moment a rule is breached. You get a breach log showing exactly which rule, at what price and time, plus an AI-generated review of your trades. A reset restarts the same evaluation with a fresh balance at 60% of the original fee. Nobody passes every time; the point of the review is that the next attempt is smarter, not just another fee. Whether a reset or a fresh account is the cheaper route back is worked through in prop firm reset vs new account. For the practical side of staying inside these limits, see how the evaluation works.

How many accounts you can hold

You can hold up to 15 challenge accounts and 5 funded accounts per market (Forex, Futures, Perps) at the same time, any size. If you pass while 5 are already funded, the new one waits in your funded reserve and activates automatically when a slot opens.

Who can join

Traders aged 18 or over from most countries. Futures plans are open to US residents. Forex (CFD) plans are not available to residents of the United States or Canada. Bold Funded Ltd is a Saint Lucia international business company, is not licensed by the Saint Lucia FSRA, and does not serve residents of Saint Lucia or sanctioned countries. Identity verification is required once, before your first payout (and before purchase if you pay by card).

Build Your Own rules

If none of the six plans fits, every plan has a Build Your Own option under the plan cards. You can remove the daily loss limit, start at a 95% split, switch a trailing plan to static, and more. Friendlier rules cost more, stricter rules cost less, and the price updates live before you pay. Whatever you configure is written into your account as its rule set and enforced exactly as sold. Launch pricing for every plan, including the codes, is on the promo codes page.

Pick a plan and a size and every number below updates on the card, with a plain-English explanation next to each rule.

Frequently asked questions

Does Bold Funded have a time limit?

No. There is no time limit on any Bold Funded evaluation. You can take as long as you need while respecting the loss limits.

Which Bold Funded plans use static drawdown?

Forex Two-Step and Forex Instant use a static drawdown measured from the starting balance. One-Step, Futures Bold, Futures Bolt and Futures Instant use end-of-day trailing drawdown that locks: on One-Step once you are a full limit above the starting balance, on the futures plans at the starting balance plus $100.

Is there a consistency rule at Bold Funded?

Only in specific places: 40% during the Bold futures evaluation, and 40% on funded Bolt, Forex Instant and Futures Instant accounts. Two-Step, One-Step and funded Bold accounts have none.

Is there a minimum number of trading days at Bold Funded?

Not on any evaluation: every plan passes on equity the moment the target is reached. On the Bold evaluation the 40% consistency rule still spreads a pass over at least three profitable days in practice. Once funded, Bold, Bolt and the Instant plans need 5 trading days per payout request.

Can US residents trade with Bold Funded?

US residents can take the futures evaluations (Bold, Bolt and Futures Instant). Forex (CFD) plans are not available to residents of the United States or Canada.
